DRETZKA PARK DISC GOLF COURSE

AT A GLANCE

Located at Dretzka Park , Milwaukee

Short course length = 4715 ft.
Long course length = 6099 ft.

Dretzka Out of Bounds:
If you land out of bounds, pick up the disc and carry it back in bounds.  All roads are O.B. Across a road is O.B. The road O.B. line is defined as the vertical plane extending upwards from the curb on the inbound side. A disc touching or leaning on that plane is considered in bounds.
The farmers field to the right on hole #2 is O.B.
On hole #4, all private property and fenced areas are O.B.
Also, a disc inside the fenced electrical sub station box is O.B.
The parking lot on hole #18 is O.B. All standing water is casual and not considered OB.

How The Course Plays

Provided by Chain Reaction Disc Golf Supplies
Hole #1
(short pin 225 ft.) Thrown straight off the tee pad, this is normally an easy deuce.
(intermediate pin 295 ft.) A shot near or across the bridge will yield a par on this placement which is well protected by shrubs.
(long pin 337 ft.) A much more difficult placement. This hole doglegs to the right at the end of the flight path. Blind hole, par is good.
Hole #2
(short pin 222 ft.) A fundamental shot straight down the fairway will take a stroke off your score.
(long pin 312 ft.) Keep it on the fairway. If the disc tails left, yell "FORE" to warn the drivers on #18. Many players struggle for par here.
Hole #3
(short pin 238 ft.) A narrow throwing lane demands accuracy. Deuces are common.
(intermediate pin 320 ft.) Strategically placed beyond the short pin and to the right. Avoid the woods and par is no problem.
(long pin 370 ft.) Only the biggest arms can toss it this far. Again, avoid the woods and lay up for par.
Hole #4
(short pin 195 ft.) Most drive attempts take the slightly left to right line. Avoid the whack and your there for the deuce.
(long pin 300 ft.) Right handers use the natural throwing lane. A crushin hyzer will get you there. A must par.
Hole #5
(short pin 286 ft.) Definitely reachable if threaded through the large trees. Be cautious of the O.B. road on the right. Easy par.
(long pin 308 ft.) Long and open. This hole should be a simple par. Long throwers have a shot at a 2 here.
Hole #6
(short pin 281 ft.) Throw an under stable disc, left to right, and it may float down hill and in to the basket. Avoid the woods and a deuce is likely.
(long pin 390 ft.) Extremely difficult hole requiring a long helix flight path. Breath a sigh of relief when a par is recorded on this blind hole.
Hole #7
(short pin 228 ft.) Most aced hole on the course. This should be a simple minus 1 but watch the skip.
(long pin 261 ft.) A little bit of luck is helpful here to snake through the trees and reach the basket. Take the par and move on.
Hole #8
(short pin 283 ft.) Medium length right to left hole. Pars should be made easily with deuces not being uncommon.
(long pin 371 ft.) Another difficult placement with a hill tailing down the far side of the basket. A real test of upshot skills. Pars are to be relished.
Hole #9
(short pin 295 ft.) So wide open it's scary. A gimme par with a good shot at a birdie.
(long pin 328 ft.) Although only slightly further than the short pin, deuces are not very common on this placement which is well protected by trees and shrubs. Take the par.
Hole #10
(short pin 253 ft.) Straight off the tee pad most players can reach this one. Long drives are penalized by the hill falling away behind the basket. Deuce likely.
(long pin 331 ft.) Fairly long , left to right and downhill hole dominated by a wall of trees on both sides. Good drives are rewarded with par or better, errant drives can be severely penalized.
Hole #11
(short pin 293 ft.) Not really very short. Two routes exist. Find the center of the fairway and a deuce is makeable. Hit a tree early and par will be good.
(long pin 404 ft.) Long and then some. Only the biggest arms can crush this one. Rollers have succeeded but chance the trees. Aggressive upshots are encouraged with the hill behind the basket acting as a natural backstop. Be happy with par.
Hole #12
(short pin 273 ft.) Slightly up hill with a tree taking away the hyzer route. Par must be made here but good drives yield deuces.
(long pin 393 ft.) Long with gradual elevation rise. Some choose to roll. Many consider this a two drive hole. Play for par and you'll get it. One mistake and a bogey is likely.
Hole #13
(short pin 283 ft.) Once again moving gradually up hill. Keep your drive left and par is a cake walk. A good drive can reach the pin which is protected by Birch trees.
(long pin 360 ft.) An intimidating sight from the tee pad. Rollers are sometimes elected. Monster drives can get there, but often it's an upshot that rewards with par.
Hole #14
(short pin 229 ft.) Very picturesque hole which often yields deuces. Low ceiling demands a fast shot to keep the ground from rising up and eating your drive.
(long pin 323 ft.) Long hyzer shot with danger of O,B. in the road on the right. Keep your tee shot in bounds and par is not a problem.
Hole #15
(short pin 253 ft.) The O.B. road on the right and the thinly scattered trees are the only things preventing a deuce. Throw straight and your there. Don't over think it.
(long pin 310 ft.) A straight hard shot normally finds it's way through the trees. Par is fairly easy. Good drives could see a deuce.
Hole #16
(short pin 295 ft.) Wind can be a factor here. Natural right handers hole. A clean snap can get you there. This one can take a stroke off your score.
(long pin 370 ft.) Long and wide open for most of the distance. Only the crankers have a chance at this one. Par is respectable.
Hole #17
(short pin 275 ft.) Tight fairway line with tree walls on both sides leaves no room to swing it. Keep it straight and slide to the pin. Par can usually be salvaged from a bad drive.
(long pin 313 ft.) This hole is also known as the "separator " for it's ability to separate the men from the boys late in the game. The drive must thread the tight, low ceiling fairway and finish right at the end of the flight path. Avoid the early trees and par is likely.
Hole #18
(short pin 308 ft.) Hit the gap 40 ft. off the tee pad and it's clear sailing, with a slight turnover shot, to the pin. Anhyzer skills will yield a deuce.
(intermediate pin 318 ft.) This pin doubles as a practice basket. Basically the same line as the short pin except slightly longer. Easy par.
(long pin 318 ft.) The big arms can crush this one. Most elect to keep it on the fairway and walk away with par.
